Paintball...

Wow, I've come to the realisation that not only did I not finish my last post, but I also didnt write very much as well. Well guess theres a good explanation to that...I was lazy. And I think I also had a crapload of work to do. It was literally Charlie Foxtrot (cluster f**k...layman terms, deep s**t) for me as I pretty much had like

1 year down, 2 more to go...and then probably 3-4 more...

Yep. My first year in University has finally passed. And boy its been so fast. I can still remember when I first went to RMIT to enrol. Heck I can even remember when I first found out what course I was given. I wasnt the most pleased person but after a while I got into the course, found it really interesting and cool and actually consider a turning point in my life. Like, its changed my career path. Im no longer aiming to be a journalist as I so desperately wanted to before and now want to be a prosecutor like Jack McCoy from Law and Order, or to a lesser extent, Michael Cutter, also from Law and Order. And if not that, then maybe a lawyer like Lionel Hutz from the Simpsons. Well preferably not like Lionel Hutz. Blue Haired Lawyer maybe. But with a soul lol. Anyway, enough of Simpsons lawyer facts. The point is I want to be a lawyer now, preferably a prosecutor. And Its not such a big change, I mean I always did want to be a lawyer until I saw the ENTER score needed to do it at Monash and gave up because it was too hard. And now I'll just simply do it post-grad and be able to specialise in Criminal Law because of my degree, increasing my chances of being a prosecutor. Still not sure where I want to do my Juris Doctor (post grad law degree). Still deciding between Melbourne and Monash. The Monash Law school is like on Bourke and Williams St so its a pretty convenient location (kinda same reason why I put down RMIT for my current course). Oh well, still have a couple of years to go.

Its been so long since my last post. So much I want to talk about, I dont even know where to begin. Partly because I dont know where my last post left off. Lemme check...hmmm cant tell because its so mundane lol. But the date says it was a month ago so I'll just use that. Now lets see...4 weeks ago...well cant exactly remember much in the week after that post but the past 3 weeks have been hell on earth. Every week I had at least 1 Assignment due (I think most times it was 2), which I would have to start on. Never worked so frantically in my life. Of course it didnt help with the fact that I would leave it to the last minute because not doing it is so much more fun than actually doing it, and sure as hell didnt help that I discovered a really good manga every time that would make me addicted and stop me from doing my work. That and online mahjong was also a major distraction (which stopped after I became capped). Which is sooo much fun. I would so love to play in real life. That'll be awesome. Anyway...back to what I was talking about. I had so much stuff due. First week I had I believe my lab report for psych and field trip report for Cross Cultural. Second week I had my Major Ethics paper and a psych test. And then for week 13...I had my...Ethics take home exam. Man...my lecturer said he would have it uploaded on the Friday before and we would have a week to do it. Not only does it first come up on the Sunday, but he also uploads one that was two years old, so something else which I cant remember. Probably some stuff for law. Think that week I also had my Criminal Justice Ball but I'll talk about that later. What else did I have to do...oh yeah then there was my Cross Cultural Essay which made me stay up to 5 in the morning to get done because I started. And I barely made the word limit. Got in through the 10% leeway. And by then I was so dead tired I couldnt think of anything to write so just gave up and submitted. I am never leaving an essay to the last day ever again. I cant do it. I have no idea how some people can and still end up with a great mark. Anyway, just yesterday? Im already losing track of time lol. Well think it was yesterday that I did my final piece of assessment. I hope it was my final piece of assessment. If there was something I forgot, then I am so screwed. It was an online test for law which was alright. And now that its all done, I am officially on holidays. Oh I might not have mentioned this but I dont have exams so yayness lol. Everyone seems to get really upset when I tell them that. I dont know why. Anyway, now that I have no assessments left, I find myself really bored. So bored in fact that Im blogging lol. But yeah, I really need something to occupy my time, like a job. Or a good book. Or a box set of DVDs like Miami Vice where I can just sit down and vege out on lol. I borrowed the first 4 discs of Season 1 from the RMIT library but didnt watch it because I didnt have time due to my assignments and crap and since I didnt want to keep on renewing it, I just returned it. If anything, I'll see if I can rent it from Video Ezy.

Well, about the Criminal Justice Ball. It was on a Thursday. I cant remember which week simply because I've lost all track of time. It was the week before my Cross Cultural Essay Im sure. Anyway, started at like 7 when Sonya came over to my house (it was just a short drive from her place since she just lives a street away) and waited for the taxi to come, which it did when we stepped out to find it parked up my driveway, and w

Rejoice, for the end is near

I would...except I have so much crap to do before the end arrives. Have like 3 essays at least, a few tests, a presentation, and probably a whole lot more crap. Bleh. So over Uni already. Just wish I could just get my degree and move on. Although, after my degree I think I'll have to do another 3-4 years doing my JD which Im hoping isnt going to be as bad as what Im currently going through, though chances are it would probably be much worse. Sigh. I should be doing work at the moment but Im just so exhausted, I really cant be bothered. Earlier tonight I took a nap at like 7 because I was so tired. Slept for like an hour and I swear, I could have slept more. Might be because Im waking up at like 7:45 most times, and at 6:45 on Tuesdays which are a killer. And this week has been particularly tough because on the Sunday night I stayed up to like 1 trying to get my presentation done so I could present the next day, which didnt finish (more on that later) and then Monday night, I stayed upto like 1130 watching the Emmy's, simply because Neil Patrick Harris was presenting and I read earlier in they day that it was actually good for once lol. Well better than it has been lately. Havent really been watching Emmy's much because most of the shows that I watch now arent nominated (well except for Neil Patrick Harris as Barney on How I Met Your Mother and that guy who played Sheldon in Big Bang Theory, and think there were a few other ones). But it was alright. Neil was a pretty good presenter. Very funny lol. Cant remember if there was a highlight though. Anyway, when I went to bed, had the hardest time falling asleep. No idea why. Which was bad because I had to wake at 6:45 the next day to go to Uni. I still managed to wake up on time but was really tired at the end of the day and ended up going to sleep before 12. Oh well. At least get to sleep in tomorrow. I hope. Its weird having my brother at home for holidays. Like normally when I wake up at 8 to go to Uni, Mum would also be awake preparing breakfast for Ivan before she drove him to school, and would also make me coffee. But this morning, everyone was still asleep and I had to make my own coffee . I know it sounds lazy of me but its not like I minded. Its just it felt kinda odd I guess. Felt like I was living alone kinda.
Anyway, I'll just blog a few interesting things that have been happening since my last update. I'll try and keep this as short as possible because Im sorta tired and its 1230 and I think I'd rather sleep than stay up typing lol.

Hmmm I cant really remember when my last update was so probably cant fill in everything or might have somethings overlap. Oh well, not like it really matters. First thing I want to talk about was this really funny joke I thought of last Wednesday during Law, which I didnt say to the class despite being totally relevant and hilarious (though Im not sure many would agree). Well the joke is only funny if I put it into context so I'll explain what was happening. We were talking about...something. Cant remember the topic of the lecture lol. But Michele (the lecturer) was talking about how in one instance, a guy was arrested for taking people's handbags in the cinemas and stealing the contents, and they busted him in a sting. However, during the sting, he didnt take anything and just put the handbag back because there wasnt anything of value. And his defense was that he didnt take anything, hence its not considered theft. I think he got off, though cant really remember lol (shows how much I was paying attention) Anyway, apparently there was another guy who also tried to use the same defense but his circumstances was different. This guy apparently worked in a car parts factory and took a part home to see if it would fit his car, and if it didnt fit his car, he would have bought it right back. That defense however didnt fly because he had already stolen the part. Anyway, my joke  was "So I guess its kind of like the O.J. Defense, if the part don't fit, you must acquit". Now unless you know about the O.J Simpson Trial (not the recent one, but the first one), it probably wont make a lot of sense, so I'll explain it. OJ Simpson was this famous American actor and foot ball player who "allegedly" murdered his wife or girlfriend and her friend or lover or something like that. Anyway, one of the pieces of evidence was a glove found at the scene with blood on it or something and they tried to have OJ put on the glove to see if it fits, and because it didnt fit, it meant that OJ Simpson didnt kill her, though there were several reasons why it couldnt fit, which can be read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oj_simpson_trial#Glove
Anyway, the defense then became "If the glove dont fit, you must acquit". I guess its not that funny if you have to explain it but I thought it was funny. Had a good laugh about it that night lol.

Monday was another interesting day because I decided to skip my ethics tute and it wasnt because I was sick or had to prepare for other work. I felt like such a rebel lol. Kinda made me feel bad though lol. Oh well. Reason why I skipped was that the week before, John, my tutor said to the class "next week Im just going to pick someone and you're expected to be ready". And since I wasnt ready and didnt want to be picked, I thought that if I wasnt there, he couldnt pick me so I would be in the clear. Which worked because I wasnt picked and he didnt ask for me so it means I wont have any marks lost. Anyway, during the tute, I was out playing pool with John and just around MC looking for jobs. Applied at the newsagent even though it was a full time position and at the Whatever Store. I seriously hope I get something. I really really need a job. Lol, the stuff they sell at the Whatever Store is pretty cool and funny. There was this gnome that you walk past, it'll go "hey you, come close. I want to tell you something" and as you walk closer, it'll go "a little closer" and when you get close enough, it'll say "f**k off you dips**t" or something to that effect lol. Have to admit, I thought it was pretty funny. After that, John called and we went to play pool at Strikeout because its relatively cheap and because I wanted to sort my membership thing out, which they still have yet to, which is rather annoying, as I want to be able to use the points I acquire to be able to redeem free stuff, like bowling, or preferably, free pool lol. After pool...think we just took the bus home, after trying to meet up with Marcus but couldnt because he was busy with Uni friends after his class. Ah, feel so bad because we kept (well...I called him once and he messaged me saying he was busy. John called the rest of the times) calling him and apparently he was sitting a test at that time. And the first time when I called, he didnt have his phone on silent and his phone was in his bag so he had to look for it.

Tuesday was also alright. Not a bad day. Met up with Jess McAndrew for a coffee, well she had coffee, I was fine and then went shopping. I didnt buy anything for obvious money (lack of funds, if it wasnt obvious enough) but Jess ended up buying a pair of white and flouro pink Nike sneakers (I think they were Nike) from Carhartt. At first I felt they looked a bit weird, not just because of the colour, but also because of the shape. But have to admit, they actually look pretty cool when she put em on, although I think it only works on chics. I dont think a guy can wear that and still look cool. Well...maybe. Depends on the guy I guess. Not me though. Anyway, while Jess was trying on the shoe, John called me and told me he was done for the day. Bloody John. Tells me off whenever I answer my phone because he expects me to hang up and call him back. Cheap bastard. Anyway, Jess and I went to meet up with John and he was...charming as usual lol. we head back up to RMIT because she had class and we just stood outside her building for a bit until she went in and then John and I decided to roam the streets, first by going to a place on the Lonsdale Street past Elizabeth where John wanted to go to get Magic cards because he, Vince and Albert were getting back into it and John needed to buy cards for his deck. Lol, brings back memories. The place we went to was interesting. The guy there was really pro and seemed to know every card off by heart lol. Bit weird though, felt like every guy in the shop were all kinda geeks and nerds lol. Not that there are anything wrong with geeks or nerds mind you. I consider myself a bit of a nerd. Our Prime Minister is a nerd according to Bill Clinton lol. And we all know what a jock he was. Anyway, after that, went to another Magic place called Dungeon where John looked at more cards but didnt want to buy anything and was actually gonna tell off the guy there for being such a crappy place because the cards were so expensive. But that didnt eventuate lol. And after that, John went home and I wasted time in the computer lab reading the news and playing Bejewelled until it was my tute, which was interesting. The topic was on personality and somehow my tutor went on for 10 minutes talking about smoking lol.

Today...lets see...what happened today...woke up to find everyone asleep so had to make my own coffee...had Cross Cultural Communication which was the usual bore. Lol, so funny, Sonya and I were exchanging notes at the start like High School kids. She would write on my book, and I'd just write a response. We also had a guest speaker to talk about translating and interpreting and how its so important to have professionals to do it and he gave a couple of funny stories. My favourite one was of a doctor in Queensland consulting a couple of birth control, but since they werent English speakers, he just got some guy who can speak some English to translate for them. Anyway, about a month after the consultation, the couple came back to the doctor and the woman was pregnant. The reason being: it was the guy who've been taking the pill lol.
After the lecture, had the tute and Sonya, Briony and I had to present our critique of readings responses of last week and I was really nervous about it because I didnt prepare that much and it clearly showed. Everyone commented on it lol. And also the next group to critique our responses mispelled my name as Jason, and it was quite annoying because you get it from the discussion board and my name is right there!!!!!!
Also later in the day when Sonya and I was waiting for the 304, Jessie also happened to show up to catch the bus as well and as we got on the bus, John, Vince and Albert were also there which was perfect because I havent seen them (with the exception of John) for ages. Apparently they went to the Magic Shop John showed me yesterday lol. So it was fun catching up with em, having guy talk lol.

And thats pretty much it. Its way past 12:30 now and I really should sleep because my eyes are feeling really heavy. And want to be able to wake up at a decent time to actually start on my assignments lol. So bye bye for now and probably wont be blogging until...well we'll see how bad the assignments are lol.

Wild Wild Couple of Weeks

Well these past two weeks have been interesting to say the least, particularly in the past 48 hours. I'll explain that later. Well so much has happened and I didnt blog about it because I had so much work to do. Still have so much work to do lol. Despite that though, I feel that I should blog about it to enshrine it in history and so I wont forget. That and its more fun than doing my ethics essay lol. Then again so is sleep so I might do that as well. I sense my essay wont be finished until 6 hours before its due. Fingers crossed that wont happen.
So whats been happening that I must blog about you ask? Well there was Betty's Fusion Rally at her church, then there was meeting up with Jonno with Linda and Wes before Jonno goes off for a month to NSW for army training, and then there was Marcus' birthday party at Colombos and then there was Tuesday, which is where it got really interesting. I'll try and keep this blog as short as I can, for your benefit and mine, as I really need to do work. Or sleep. Feel really tired lately. Dont know why. Might have been because havent been getting as much sleep as I should be because of Uni. Damn Uni.

Anyway, lets get this on the road. Well...webpage. I think I should just make a note, I am the last person left using Xanga. Everyone else has abandoned me and conformed to blogspot. I feel so left out. And I dont want to change since I have all my old posts on this. So if there was a way to transfer them all to blogspot, I might, since the xanga typing thing is a bit...meh. Find blogspot one so much more simpler. But oh well. I'll live. Now what was I going to say before I got sidetracked? Oh yeah I was going to write about things that I've been doing. Well first off was Fusion Rally which I have to say was actually quite an incredible experience. They had a really good speaker, and everything that night was just really good, especially the singing and the skit of a guy who sits on a chair that had a "do not sit" sign on it and then gets stuck and a guy who comes help him suggests they pray so that he can get off, and which he does. I keep on forgetting to ask Betty this, so if you're reading this, was the guy's shoe meant to fly off into the crowd? lol. Well the night began with me about to leave for Pines to catch the 286 for Box Hill and then Marcus calling me saying he wont be going because he was still in the City, which wouldnt have been a big deal except I was going to have him drive me home, but didnt think it would be a big deal since I thought I would be able to hitch a ride from Timmy. And while on the bus ride, I called Timmy asking if when he was catching the bus, because my bus had gone past his stop and he didnt get on but he told me he was just catching a later one and would still be there when I got there, and also asked for a ride home. However he said he wouldnt be able to, since he was driving Robert and their friend Yanny home, which left me no real idea on how to get home, though Marcus did text me saying he could dirve me home if needed lol, which was nice of him. Anyway, further down the bus ride, Timmy calls me and says he'll be late, and later on the ride, it starts to rain, like really hard, which sorta put me off going, and really felt cbs. But in the end I felt really glad that I went because it was such a great night. Well I get to Box Hill and had to wait a while for Timmy to arrive because he misread the timetable and was going to get there later. While waiting, I noticed that there are a lot of hot Asian chics in Box Hill on Saturday nights. Most likely to catch the train to the city to go clubbing. I remember there was this really hot chic wearing like really tight leather pants. Anyway...back to the main point. Timmy soon arrive and we happen to just miss the tram so had to wait like 10 minutes or something for next one. Once on the tram, we notice that theres a bunch of kids sitting behind us who were rather loud and from what we heard of their conversation, it turned out that they were going to the rally as well. Timmy and I kinda were unsure on where to stop since we've never taken the tram to Betty's church, though I did go there for Betty's baptism. Once we get there, we just catch up with other people who were there like Betty, Lydia, Gabriel. Lol, Timmy and I had trouble filling in the raffle forms, since we werent high school students, we werent sure what to put in for school and year lol. That night I kept on stuffing my face when people came around with food because I hadnt eaten anything that day for some reason. Cant remember why. Probably because I woke up at like 12 or 1 that day. Food wasnt bad. Lots of sushi and sausages and pineapples on toothpicks. And springrolls if I remember correctly. Then the night began and we had to sit on the floor like primary school kids because there werent chairs lol. Interesting experience. Hadnt sat on the floor like that in ages. Towards the end of the night, they were giving away an ipod nano, and when they began reading out the winner, the announcer goes "the winner is Gabriel" and we're all standing in silence, looking at him, not sure if it was the Gabriel next to me lol. Someone in the crowd had to shout "Is it Gabriel Goh?" before we knew it was him who won it. After that night, Timmy was able to drive me home after all because Robert and his friend failed to show up, which was a stroke of good luck I guess, though bad because Robert couldnt make it.

Next thing that I did was meet up with Jonno, along with Wes and Linda to have lunch in Shoppo before he disappears for a month in the Army for training somewhere in NSW. I caught the 305 with Wes and just bummed around for a bit waiting for people to arrive. When Linda and Jonno did arrive, we headed to the food court and Jonno and I got Indian food, Linda got Grill'd and think Wes got Thai food. Lol, Linda decided to be all neat and proper and eat her burger with a fork and knife and have to admit, she did a really good job. No spills or anything. I thought that when she sunk the knife into it, all the fillings would shoot out the other side lol. My meal wasnt too bad. Quite like Indian food. Wouldnt mind going back. Cant remember what I had though lol, just had like 2 meat curries, with a vegetable one and a lot of rice.
After that we just wandered around Shoppo for a bit, had a chat to Cindy at the sunglasses shop at where she worked. Also went to Big W where Linda bought the entire series of Twilight lol and Wes bought a box of cookies for his Mum's birthday, which I suspect also bought so he can eat it after giving it to her lol. From there, we took a look at the apple store and my goodness its massive. And theres so much fun stuff. Linda was playing this cooking game on a touch. And after that, we all caught the bus home, with Wes, Linda and I catching the 305 which also had Albert on which was nice because I havent seen him in aaagggeess.

Next item in my story is that of Marcus' birthday dinner which was last Thursday night. Started at like 7 so I met up with Alvin at Box Hill at 6:30 but my bus got there late so we missed the first tram so had to wait a bit but it was no biggie since when we got to Colombo's (the place where the dinner was held), no one was there yet so we had to wait around for a bit. Before long everyone arrived and we sat at our table and just chatted before ordering. Vincent and I ordered a pizza which took forever to arrive. Ours was like the last to come I think. Anyway, it was a fun night, catching up with people. Caught up with Jacky Ko, whom I havent seen since he left for China in like Yr8 or 9. Food wasnt too bad. Bit pricey though. Lol, while on our tram ride, Alvin and I were talking bout how for a birthday party, we should have it in like David and Cammy's in Box Hill, like book out the whole place lol. Might consider that next year. After dinner, we had cake, which was an ice cream cake which was sooo nice. We also sang Happy Birthday which was conducted by the manager of the store. He was soo funny lol. He was like "hey stop. On the count of three start again and do it properly" or something like that lol. We also gave him his present which was a G-Star raw gift card which is I hope he thanked dearly. Not so much us but more of thanking G-star...lol. Anyway after that, James wanted us to have supper at Black Copper in Jackson Court so Sandra and I rode in Marcus' car and Gabriel drove Vicky and Alvin home, and once we all arrive at Black Copper, we find that the place was packed so we decided to go to Shoppo. Lol, apparently Marcus' sister was at Black Copper as well. Also saw Kaki was working there so had a bit of a chat with him. Anyway afterwards we decided to go to Shoppo for coffee or drinks there but nothing eventuated and Marcus drove me home while everyone went to a friend's house for what I was told the next morning some drunken tennis lol, which sounds incredibly fun. 1 thing I do want to try is drunken chess lol. Every time you lose a piece, u take a shot or a drink. And the higher ranking your piece is, the stronger or more you have to drink lol. We should so try that.

Anyway, onto the most interesting story, well, for me anyway, which was Tuesday. During the day, nothing all that special, though John and I went to Strikeout to try and get a free hour of pool because we thought that if we became members we would (that and there werent any free tables at RMIT), but that was not the case. In the end, I still did become a member (I think) but we didnt get free pool but instead we did play for an hour, which cost us $10 which was alright I guess. And since we managed to get like 5 or 6 games in, it was around the same as at RMIT, only with better tables and cues, though John would probably disagree about the cues lol.
But the interesting thing of the night was that everything on my side of the house, i.e. my room Mum and Ivan's room, the bathroom etc, had no power. We had lights but everything plugged in had none. Apparently we blew a fuse and had to have it replaced. Problem was we had no fuse wire and we couldnt get it anywhere since it was at like 9 or 10 at night. We even ran across the street to Safeway to see if they had any but they had none. All that would have been alright except I had an assignment due the next morning, which was on the computer...that was in my room. So to solve that problem, I decided to haul my computer outside and plug it into living room and use the tv as a monitor. Only problem was that that side had no power as well. So I had to haul the computer and also my monitor (and it was a crt monitor so heavy as all hell) to the dining room and set it up there. Once I did get it all set up though, I realised that my keyboard didnt work for some reason, and I thought that I broke it while taking it out, so I got the files I needed and put it on the usb so that I can work on it using the laptop. After I did all that, and put the computers back in my room, I set to work on the laptop, and was sorta hoping to go online as well. Problem was that I couldnt because the modem was in my room. Ended up using facebook from my phone for a bit lol. But it was gay because I was hoping to email my work to Uni to print out but since I couldnt do that, I would have to bring my usb. The next morning, I rushed to the computer lab to get it printed and handed in before 9:30, which I managed to do amazingly enough, and was so tempted to just skip my lecture and tute, but decided to just go anyway, which I so regretted. Most boring lecture ever. Just talking about Aboriginal language and placenames or something like that. We had a guest speaker who was dull as all hell, but a fricken genius in my mind. He could recall something like instantly and give so much detail.
Anyway, later that night, we finally got power back and I cbs putting my computer back so I waited a bit but since my borother needed something printed off, and had to do it from my comp since it appeared to be the only 1 capable of printing, I had to put it back, but I didnt it an ad hoc fashion and just plugged it all in without putting it back on the desk and had my keyboard and mouse on the floor. It was so weird because my keyboard still wouldnt work and it sorta freaked me out. Later that night when I did put everything back on my desk (after a very thorough cleaning), the weirdest thing happened. My keyboard worked lol. It only seems to work when its on my desk, like it has some connection with it lol. Kinda creepy.
Well thats all from me for now. Dont expect anything soon because I have a ton of work due soon. I am oh so screwed for them. Sigh. Laters.

YAY!!!!!!!! Mid-semester break!!!!!!!

Which I can use to start my ethics presentation, my ethics minor essay (think its 1500 words? How in the hell is that minor?) and my ethics major essay (2500 words I think?). I believe I should also get started on the other homework, like the essay for Cross Cultural Communication, along with the other two assignments, catch up on readings for Law etc etc. But for now, I think I'll just chill out a bit and watch some Naruto (omgsh I just watched Kakkashi's Gaiden of Naruto and its soooo sad but so good as well), catch up on sleep, eat food and just pretty much waste time, like writing this blog lol. So whats been happening with me since my last post? Actually quite a lot, but I havent been bothering to post them up for a number of reasons. One of which was that I was horribly sick last week and was always too tired to do anything. I slept for so much that week and even skipped lectures. I know. I would have enjoyed skipping those lectures if I wasnt sick lol. I skipped my 8:30 psych lecture on Tuesday and had about 12 hours sleep that day and just rocked up for my tute, simply because it was a tute and didnt want to miss it, even though it went over stuff that I couldnt understand because I missed the lecture. But it was still helpful because we went over some practice questions to give us an idea on whats going to be on the mid semester test the next week. The next day I skipped my law lecture after my Cross Cultural Communication tute because it was a lecture and figured I wouldnt miss much because it probably would have just been going over Yr12 legal studies stuff. When I got home I asked a friend in the lecture if I was missing anything, I was told no lol. Later that day, Mum took me to the doctors down at Jackson Court and was told that my throat was really inflamed and told me to rest, take panadol and antibiotics, which I got from the pharmacy next door. And then for the rest of the week, I spent time at home resting my extremely sore throat. It was the sorest its been ever I reckon. It was so bad it hurt to eat congee. I havent had a cup of coffee in ages because of it. Been surviving on lemon honey tea and even though its much better now, Im just having tea for the meantime until its fully better. Speaking of which, we ran out of honey but still have like plenty of lemons (one of which is already cut up) so Im hoping Mum buys some coronas  (but since I dont think she's ever bought them before, I might need to buy em myself. Which means I need a job. More on that later.). My throat hurt so badly last Monday that I had to go to the pharmacy in QV to get strepsils and I was popping them as soon as 2 hours had passed after my last one. I went through the whole pack of 24 in like 5 days I think. Hurt my teeth so badly lol. But it provided some needed relief. Hmmm so what else happened last week...got a haircut which was nice lol. Went to Orange in Box Hill again since it was cheap. I wasnt sure how I should cut it, despite people on facebook overwhelmingly suggest shave (i.e. military cut) or a mohawk, I decided to let the hairdresser decide. In the end, she just thinned it and shortened it, and looks alright I guess. Feels so much more comfortable than long hair lol. Monday I also met up with Robert and his friend Jason and we had lunch. Well...they had lunch. I decided not to eat anything since my throat felt as though someone had poured in acid, followed by petrol and a threw in a match. I know that sounds a bit melodramatic but thats how it felt. From there...cant remember all that much more. Just a lot of sleep lol.

And then let us move to this week. Monday, had Uni as usual, not too much I can talk about because it wasnt that interesting. Can barely remember what went on lol. Just remember my lecturer talking and listening to Peter Singer, this modern philosopher talking on podcast which my lecturer put on his ipod and plugged it into the computer to play on the room's speakers. Cant remember what he talked about but I did remember something about eating ethically by knowing where our food comes from or something like that. After that was the tute which was just listening to presentations and then I took the bus home early because I couldnt be bothered wasting time in the city and just wanted to rest at home. On the bus home though, I was kinda tempted to get off at Shoppo and just walk around but decided not to since I told Mum I would be home earlier and I sorta couldnt be bothered. Shoppo would always be there. I hope. And it was a good thing I didnt go because as the bus was going up George St, Betty got on, whom I havent seen in aaaggeees. Apparently she was just riding up 2 stops to get off at Blackburn shops because she was lazy and and it was so windy outside, and that her bus was coming in like two minutes so I can sorta understand her reasoning. Still, it was nice seeing her again. And from there I went home, after getting some instant noodles from Safeway.

Tuesday would be by far the most interesting day of the week. It was the day I had my job interview with Myer and I was crapping myself over it. And it was gay because I had a psych lecture before hand, which I could have skipped but didnt because I missed last weeks lecture, and I had a psych test right after the interview which made it more important for me to turn up to the lecture. The lecture finished at like 10 instead of 1030 which gave me some extra time to prepare and actually get food because I hadn't eaten anything that day. I got chips from Maccas and tried to study in my break for the test which I was so stuffed for because I dont even have the books to study. Its really weird turning up to Uni in a suit. Feels slightly awkward and have to explain to everyone why Im in a suit. It was most awkward at the end of the day when I was waiting for the bus and ran into Wes, Jason, Captain and Richard (from Pirmary School), to which Capt' said I looked intimidating or something lol.
So how did the interview go? It went alright I guess. Glad I wore a suit because everyone wore a suit lol. Its weird when walking into the interview place and and seeing people walk in the same direction as you, and you know that they're going for the interview since they're well dressed as well. Kinda makes you want to beat them over the head with something, to remove the competition lol. After we got our names marked off, we were led into the interview room and I was put on a table with 7 other people.
After that, we were just given an introduction about Myer and what to expect in the interview and how great it is to work for Myer. Im looking forward to the discounts lol, assuming I get the job to get them lol. After that was our first activity where we had to introduce ourselves to the person next to us and then hat person was to introduce us to the rest of the table and explain why that person should be hired. I was paired up with a guy named Anh and he does Science at Melb Uni and watches anime like me lol. After that, think we had a bit more of a talk from the head of the HR department. She talks like one of those advertisement people, always has an answer for something, is always cheerful, always happy. Anyway, after that was our next activity which we were given a scenario with some options on what we could do and then we had to list in order the options based on priority. We had a bit of a squabble over what should go after the first two, but it didnt matter since those were the only ones that they wanted to know. They just wanted us to make sure we put safety first. Im starting to wonder if its appropriate to be blogging about this since they are to do with how Myer recruits people and if Im actually allowed to do so. But meh, its not as though they'll find this and read it lol. Well...I hope not.
Now where was I? Right, the third thing we had to do was try and sell a product to the person next to us. Our table was given 4 items: a toy tree house with toy monkeys, a bottle of foundation or something, a child's shirt and a tube of Jenifer Lopez's Live body lotion, which was the item I ended up picking lol. Dont ask why. Anyway, from there I had to try and sell it to the person next to me, which happened to be Anh and it was pretty interesting trying to convince a guy to buy lotion lol, especially one that sparkles and smells like fruit. After that, we were left to talk amongst ourselves and funniest thing happened. Our whole table (except for two girls...well at least 1 didnt) got into a whole conversation about anime lol and our table was only half asian. It all started during the first task when Anh mentioned I watch anime and then after we were all done, a girl on the table asked me if I went to the anime convention that was on over at the weekend and from there just escalated where we were talking about all sorts of anime, to the point where the HR woman giving the interviews had to come to our table and ask us to talk quietly because other tables were still going through their task lol.

Not long after, it was time to go it was only quarter to 1 so I had like 45 minutes to study for my test, which I no doubt failed irregardless of how I used that 45 minutes lol. I went to the library to just go over whatever notes I manage to scribble down during the lecture and then went off to the test when the time came. I have absolutely no clue how I did. I blitzed through them and because we had to do 80 multiple choice questions in an hour, I was so worried I wasnt going get it finished that I just rushed, not really caring if I was right or not. I reckon most of the answers I put down were guesses. Educated guesses but guesses none the less. I'd be amazed if I passed lol. Man, after the test, our tutor wanted to conduct an experiment with a few people, but since there were no volunteers, he got the entire class to do it. The experimiment was to make us walk (or run if we so chose to do so) down the five flights of stairs of the building and then back up while only breathing through a straw. The idea was to show us what a panic attack felt like. I was so puffed when I was halfway through getting up. I had to pull out the straw and take in really really deep breathes. I've actually had a panic attack before. Not fun. It was when I was at the Peak in HK. Felt like I was going to die. My heart was racing, I couldnt breathe and I could barely stand. That experiment came to nothing like how it really was, but guess its as close as you'll ever get without actually having one. From there I just went home, and ran into Wes, Jeasen, Captain and Richard at the bus stop.
The next day, was Wednesday and during my short 1 hour break, met up with Tom and just had lunch at Hanaichi in QV before I had class. Tom was in the city because he was meeting up with the topic of his interview piece for Uni and had time to kill before he was to meet up with her. Hanaichi was good. Had Japanese Pork curry which was sooo nice. I was going to have this other thing, Kay chicken or something but it looked kinda like a salad and since it was a cold day, didnt want anything like that. Writing about food like this is making me hungry lol. Could so go for a grill'd burger. With some chips. Anyway at the end of the day caught bus home, and happened to catch the same bus as Jessie which was nice. Havent seen her in ages, but I was so tired that I pretty much slept most of the bus ride home. Think she did as well lol. Dont know why I was so tired. As soon as I got home, I just plopped onto bed and slept for 3 hours lol. Slept at 5 and before I knew it, it was 8 and then just showered and watched Law and Order UK. Its an alright show but I dunno, not as good as the original, which is to be expected I guess. London doesnt have the same character as New York. Doesnt seem as glamourous or gritty. And the prosecutor they have is no Jack McCoy, or to a lesser extent Michael Cutter. Nowhere near as heavy hitting or fierce. They're too gentle and polite. And its not the same when they wear those wigs and robes and cant move around like they do in the original.

Anyway, just to leave it on a final note, want to express the sad news of the passing of Ted Kennedy. I didnt know him personally but I sure knew of him. I was so shocked when I first heard of his death on Wednesday. I remember that I got home at 5 and when I was putting my stuff away, I heard on the news what sounded like George W Bush talking and then I heard them talk about John and Robert Kennedy and then I knew something happened to Ted Kennedy, because he had been suffering from brain cancer lately. Even more sad was the fact that his sister died only a couple of weeks ago, but apparently he was too ill to attend the funeral. With the death of Teddy Kennedy, it is kinda the end of an era, and the end of the upper echelons of the Kennedy clan. Its a really sad story with the whole family, with his John and Roberts assassinations, John F Kennedy Jr (Ted's nephew) and his family dying in a plane crash. Its all just really tragic and I know that none of the achievements he achieved wouldnt really have affected me, it just seems sad that he passed away.
